georgette, the class riot

If you try to imagine Georgette, imagine that girl that doesn't fit into any one school clique, she doesn't speak much because she doesn't want to waste her breath. she thinks so far beyond dates, homework, makeup tips + magazines... there's nothing there for her. she does, however, have an aura that surrounds her down every hallway and into every study hall.. everywhere she goes.. She has a kind of confidence that someone is born with. It's often an intimidating one that can make staring her down impossible, even though you can't help but admire her unapologetic, waist slung, flannel and high tied, button down crop top. Georgette wears gold ribbons and pigtails in her glossy, black hair every single day. Those along with, the flannel and her white button down crop is the uniform of the infamous girl gang, SSG aka Surburban Street Girls.
Georgette + her badass, crimson-haired best frend, Ophelia, who graduated last year, made a solemn promise as childhood friends to start the aforementioned SSG with one sole purpose... to have fun anywhere and everywhere they may be. Granted, this supreme goal makes it a bit hard to concentrate on the typical teen dramas and class participation, they still have the best time ever, be it in the school fields after hours or breaking into the county fairgrounds late at night!

so remember... if you ever want to join Georgette and the SSG, you just gotta have fun!

masked + giggling in the gypsy den

a few weeks ago we had the most beautiful little soiree which was just perfect. the only rule was to wear a mask and everyone did! seeing everyone's choices was pretty fun since it has a bit of their sweet self involved in that costume. some babes dressed to the nines in strappy heels and little black dresses while others wore lace, sparkles and corsets. the backyard location was glowing with candles and ribbons and fringed table cloths with the constant hum of rad/loud tunes coming from our hello kitty speakers. there was game playing and portrait taking and an all around giggly feeling.. especially when we ended up on the trampoline sipping pink champagne taking photos of girls floating up in baby pink lace. we decorated with classic balloon bundles and that sherbert/7UP fruit punch that they used to serve at snack time at CCD. It was basically the dream party for any 5th grader, colorful deco, masks, impromptu 'bohemian rapsody' chorus and trampoline included.. but maybe that's what makes it so fun...
a magical night full of magical babes... remember.. themed parties are always more fun!

slow ride

we all have those nights where the best option for hanging out and having basically the best time ever means just hoping in your obviously badass vintage muscle car and meeting your friends down at the town's strip mall parking lot. well maybe not that to a T but... we've had many a night where chilling in our car is basically more fun than any house party or school dance that we've ever been to. Like, last night.. it was 4am and we were hanging out with our awesome neighbors and felt such an urge to go get breakfast biscuits from mickey d's that was echoed from around the room so we hopped into their retro wood-paneled station wagon's front bench seat and drove down to the fast food joint where crazy antics, of course, ensued. This blog post was totally inspired by last night's little trip which was full of uncontrollable giggles, squeezing together in the front, revving the oddly charged engine for a station wagon, and backing up from window to window at mcD's.

all these rad characters from probably some of the best movies know exactly what we mean... midnight car trips and hang-outs will forever be the shining ending to any night.

Dazed & Confused - countless rad car scenes.. these kids never went home.
Grease - I mean c'mon.. obviously! Basically the most important parts of these teens lives happened in their cars!
That 70's Show - Technically it's a tv show but this show's got CLASSIC car hangout moments in it..
On the Road - It hasn't come out yet but they practically live in a car and I'm so scared but so excited at the same tmeto see it because that book is my life anthem.
Fast Times at Ridgemont High - of course there's that infamous, smoked up van of Sean Penn's...
The Virgin Suicides - so the Lisbon girls didn't hang out in cars often.. but when they did that fateful night of the school dance Lux was the ultimate cool cat.

so just remember.. even if you think you ain't nowhere to go, there's always somewhere to hang when you got two pairs of wheels.

cardine, the dream rebel

Cardine is a 17-year-old rebellious youth who won't appear without her trademark thick, black cat-eye lines or her signature silky, teal curls neatly pinned up. You'll hardly see her in math class or the cafeteria because she's got other plans. Other plans that the average, squared-out teen kid just wouldn't understand. She's got no need for any silly boy, be it a punk or a jock, because they take up too much time and flirting is sure to hold her back. See, Cardine wants to be a badass, no-good, drop-out rockstar. But she's a smart girl and totally knows that dropping out's no good, so she simply tunes out of the daily lecture hall and dreams on a scale that we could only hope to imagine.
Smacking her perfect, cherry-red stained lips at herself in the bathroom mirror, she casts you a side glance while you're rinsing the soap off of your palms and it sends shivers of fear down your spine. But you can't help but feel that fright mix with admiration; for that sheer, cool glare she stares has a rare kind of intensity. An intensity that her blue, crystilized eyes can deliver with unmistakable aim. It delivers, spot on, the proof that Cardine's breed is an unforgettable one.
stay cool, cats.
